Happy Friday to you! I hope you have had a terrific week. Around here, it has been busy! Its spring break but Jay and I haven’t taken much of a break…yet. We’ve been busy putting the finishing touches on some fun new things here at simplify 101. Want a little bit of the inside scoop?
Well, fun thing number one is that we’re going to be running one of my favorite workshops (one that’s usually reserved just for January) this May. Can you guess what workshop it is? If you guessed the workshop How Acheive Your Goals and Create a Life You Love… you are right! Around here we believe that any time is the right time to begin the process of creating a life that you truly love.
This workshop is a fun workshop and one you can do anywhere…while you’re waiting in the carpool line, or sitting at the beach on your summer vacation. Unlike some of my other online workshops where you organize and declutter…this workshop is very portable. You can dream anywhere…and any time…so we thought “why not May?” (By the way, this workshop is on early bird sale for just a very short while. So if you’re thinking “you know what, I really would love to create a life I love…” go here soon to learn more.)
Fun thing number twois that I just put the finishing touches on the brand new daily decluttering prompts for the next session of Quick + Simple Clutter Control. These daily prompts are focused on helping you spring clean and declutter your home…and I think they’re going to be a lot of fun. The workshop starts next Thursday…and I can hardly wait.
Fun thing number three is that I’m just about to announce a brand new workshop! Keep your eyes open for that next week.
Fun thing number four…we got a new roof yesterday. I know…not so much fun for you, but we are thrilled. 😉
Fun thing number five is that it’s the weekend…and its Easter weekend and Jay’s birthday weekend all in one! So, I’m going to keep my to-do list light this weekend. Here we go…

- Boot camp.
- Take photos for photography class.
- Make Jay’s birthday cake.

Right now I’m watching an episode of “Hoarders,” which should easily get me in the mood for a little additional decluttering this weekend! omg, have you ever watched that show, Aby? I’m sure it would set your teeth on edge.
Hi Aby! I am interested in this workshop, but it occurs during our vacation, can you tell me the dates of the next session?
And any time I see the show “Hoarders” I have to disinfect my house afterwards (sometimes I even want to bleach my eyes 😉

@ Jan C.,
I have watched Hoarders before. I have such tremendous respect for the organizers and other professionals that help the people on that show, as I do for the clients. How incredibly brave to open up your home and life to T.V. cameras like that.

I have experienced hoarders first hand dealing with my moms house when she died. Some of it was good memories and some of it was sad that that was how life ended up. To be honest Shocking. I think since I learned of her dying in Sept that I have gone into survival mode of dealing with all the tasks and haven’t really had a chance to work through it all. She had an old european cabinet that has been with her since my parents had brought it back and it always had a certain smell and when we were packing up the valuables and dealing with the strange smells within her house, one moment of “normalcy” was when I opened up and smelled the familiar smell. I am reaching the 1 year mark next week of bad things that started the last 12 months of drama in my life including my moms death and have tried to become more appreciative of things and thankful. Now I have tried to work better and be more proactive on clearing my clutter too. Last year we were pretty good for xmas and got things we needed or perceived we needed. Lot of this had to do with the lack of funds. This year I want to embark on the gift of memories and small things to “clutter” our house that may be a reminder of our memories
Aby – Thanks for your comment on the erin condren calendar. I had asked because after your post I went to her website and fell in love with her life planner. I had been using the franklin covey system but that no longer fit me for some reason. Than I tried cheap store versions and found my self not always using them and the life planner had the best of both worlds. It had the month calendar, weekly spreads, and for most weeks a to do list and goals. What I love most about it is how I can personalize the covers with photographs so it feels like it is all mine. The colors keep me stimulated and interested as really how fun is it to look at black all the time…. I am looking forward to the 2012 calendar and cant wait to take some pictures that are cover worthy for the next 13 months that bring me a zen happy feeling..
