You may recall that last year I reviewed Peter Walsh’s line of paper organizing products—the You.Organized looks pretty fabulous, don’t you think? I love how this system addresses so many of the issues we face when working from home—like how to fit a workspace into your home so it is both functional and attractive. So often when I start working with new clients their home offices aren’t working for them because the office is just too far away from the action—down the hall in a spare bedroom or on a second floor. It works so much better to create a hub or command center right in the heart of it all, like in the kitchen. And if that command center looks great, too, well, what’s not to love? You can learn more about You.Organized on the Office Max website. I’d love to hear from you—what are your biggest challenges in terms of working at home and staying organized? Which pieces from this new collection caught your eye? I can’t wait to hear!
[IN]PLACE® SYSTEM system from Office Max. Well…good news, Peter is at it again! Right now Peter is launching his newest collection called You.Organized. Peter designed this all-in-one office collection to meet the needs of working moms and anyone who works at home. (You know—people just like you and me.) Yesterday morning I had the chance to chat with Peter about his latest collection and what inspired him to create it—which was great fun.
Oh my gosh… I think I’m in love!!! The message board system is amazing! 😀
Ohhhhh – you got to talk to Peter!! LOVE him and I am really digging his new system – what fun 🙂 Will have to look at incorporating this in my new living space! Thanks for sharing it with us Aby….
I love it!
Can someone come Photoshop my office too? Kinda like I want someone to Photoshop my butt when I’m wearing a bathing suit….
Seriously! That’s not reality. That computer? It will, eventually, need a power cord. So does the backup drive. And the phone. And the printer. Although I will give you that the office in the photo HAS NO PRINTER. Office FAIL.
Phone? Corded phone? Cell phone charger? Fax machine? That needs a phone cord.
USB dock? Cool pad for that laptop? More cords there too.
Nary a trash can, recycle bin or shredder in sight.
Reference books? Extra supplies? (you know…staples, Post-It Notes, pens… printer paper)
These photos do not inspire. They frustrate. My office can get cleaned up and looking pretty if I took everything I need to do my job OUT.
Being FUNCTIONAL and organized? Show me a busy office that is organized for maximum efficiency. Don’t show me an anorexic model who’s had another 20 pounds photoshopped off her body and tell me “you can look like this too”.
I can’t work in the office above any more than I can have a 12″ waist (and 40″ bust at the same time).
I LOVE this! Who knew that a message board system could be both functional and fashionable?
Is this the video from http://unclutterer.com/ ? The unclutterer blog has some useful tips too.
@Rhonda Sue Bone: It’s a different video than the one on unclutter.
Thanks!
Aby
I love all of it. The message board especially. And the ottoman. I loved the idea of before he even said that the top could be used as a lap desk. Very cool!
Nice! looks a lot like the Pottery Barn system for a fraction of the price.
I am loving the file cart/footstool piece. It’s not listed on the site yet for sale but someone told me it will be available soon. I may be getting one.

I love the look of the new system by Peter, but it is far from practical. If this were incorporated into a more realistic office, then maybe it would work. He is usually quite smart with his ideas so I would like to see him expand.
I love the sleek design of it! As a professional organizer, I am always looking for new products and ways to get results for my clients. I could see the skinny table being a great command center in an entry way to keep the whole family organized.
I don’t work FROM home but there is plenty of work to do at home! My “workstation” (as my 9yo son likes to call it) is the dumping ground for everything in my house…….from mail, bills, schoolpapers, receipts…..to the kids toys – which I have been able to get them to take care of. I took you paper clutter class last year. I have tweak my system here and there and it seems to help. Unfortunately I don’t have very much vertical space. But I LOVE the modular baord system. It would be great to create the organized space YOU want rather than comforming to what is available.
PS – I love Peter’s style!!! I miss not seeing him on TLC anymore.
I am in complete agreement with the comments left by Nancy. This is a seriously unreachable goal for any office that people actually WORK in! I happened to be in Office whatever the other day getting some ink for my printer with a cord and found myself walking by this “system”, so I took a gander. It is not functional at all. The memo board? Too small. Dry erase calendar? I have never found these to be of any use whatsoever – who ONLY works with one month at a time? I need at least a full six months, people. As for the paper-holding items (i.e., file folders, etc.), what makes them any more special than what’s been available for ages? I can’t find anything special about them other than the inflated price tag. I see this as just another quasi-celebrity trying to make a buck from his name.
