Just when you least expected it…Freebie Friday is back! And there’s just one word for that:
Woohoo!
Take a peak at this little beauty that’s up for grabs…
That’s right, it’s Lain’s newest creation “Snippets!” Isn’t it darling? Well, as they say, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Which is a shame, ‘cuz that’s a super cute cover, don’t you think? But wouldn’t you just love to get a peek inside? Well, I’ve got good news! If you hop on over to the Simple Scrapbooks website you can get a snippet of Snippets, a.k.a. a sneak peek. And while you’re there, be sure to join all the fun going on with the virtual launch party—including challenges and party favors!
Don’t forget to come back here after all the fun and post a comment for your chance to win a copy of Snippets! To enter, simply share which snippet of Snippets (or essay, if you’re up for more formality) you liked best and why. Comments will stay open until Sunday, November 23rd at 5:00 PM Central. The winner will be announced shortly there after! Good luck! (And congrats, Lain! Your new book looks awesome!)
Oh i really love the idea of this book!
Had a little look and love the snippet about how her Sister started scrapbooking and how she forgot to mention that she will never be caught up! So true – took me the first few months to realise that scrapbooking isnt about being “caught up”.
I love how Lain totally sympathizes with the reader. There are no words to describe our “obsession” or “addiction”, or even to call it a hobby, but we love it. We spend our time, energy and devout so much to this, it is great to see someone actually cares enough to level on my side than to shake their finger at me for making such a mess in the process.
I am so excited for this book 🙂
Good to see Laine is so down to earth and practical with her suggestions. I think the idea of being admitted with a dread disease for a hospital based scrapping retreat is inspired. What can be better than room service whilst scrapping?
Being hospitalized! LOL
So you arent feeling guilty for not doing something “importent”! 🙂
I really like the one about making time, I’ve been known to disappear upstairs sometime with some vague excuse. Then I just scrap until someone comes looking for me. I usually get about 30 minutes before my youngest starts searching for me.
I love the ideas for making time – I do this for a little reading time too!
Cool! I would love to win this! I loved the idea for making time – contract a debilitating disease. Always nice to laugh first thing in the morning. 😉
OOOOHHHHHHH. . .fantastic!! I hope it’s me!!! Who doesn’t like snippetts for making time. . .can’t we wll use a little more time??
Hillary
I loved the preview and would love to win this book!
I’ve been hearing so much GOOD about this! I’d love to win a copy!
woo-hoo — I hope you pick me LOL
My favorite page (so far!) was A Room of One’s Own. I, too, am addicted to other people’s scraprooms. In fact, I did a scrapping page dedicated to my favorite!!! (I’ll post it over on my blog later today…)
I’d like to read Lain’s book in its entirety so I could find a NEW favorite snippet…
Please pick me!!!
GAH! The few that were in the sneak peek had me rolling on the floor! I *LOVE* the line about the scraproom being perfect and the rest of the house is a disaster. Yup, that’s me! And I totally get the “room porn” imagery. I send photos to the DH all the time with the title “This one!”.
Can’t wait to pick up several copies for all my scrappin’ friends! Thanks for the heads up! Bren
I love A Room of One’s Own – I loved it when Lain read it on her podcast. When we were looking for a new house last year that was one non-negotiable qualities it had to have – a room we could turn into a scrapbook room!
Lain is hilarious – those essays were quite entertaining. My favorite is the section about “making time”. That’s my biggest problem for sure!
I like the part about how she got her sister to start scrapbooking. I basically did the same thing with my Mother. I kept reminding her of all the photos that she had of us kids from when we were little. I also let her know how meaningful it would be to have a scrapbook made by her after she is gone. Well, let’s say not only has Mom been bit by the scrappin’ bug, I think she got it worse than I did.
I can so identify with her level of obsession over other people’s scrapbook rooms. I am in the midst of converting a space upstairs into one of those wonderful spaces where “all the furniture matches”. I, too, constantly have to wipe the drool off of my keyboard while cruising the net.
Ok, so I refused to read this preview because I am on a VERY strict budget and I really don’t need another scrapbooking book…but now I must have this book! I love how Lain Ehmann writes like a friend talking to you! I love the “snippet” about scrapping spaces and moving her kids out of a their rooms. I really hope you pick me, I would hate for my son to go with out food so I can have a new book! LOL!
BTW thanks for all the great organizational tips! I have a wrapping bucket too, minus the red “fuzz”!
A Room of One’s Own is my fav. I also troll the internet looking at other women’s creative spaces. Scrapbooking and decorating- my two favorite subjects. I enjoy Laine’s podcast, and would love to read the book. Happy Friday
I love Lain’s humour! I feel my spirits lifted just by reading those few snippets. I love the ‘Pull a Houdini’ section & the opening sentences- I so identify with what she is saying! Looks like a fun book to read. :o)
