Happy Saturday to you!
Jay and the kids went to my in-laws to chop and split wood. Gotta’ love this…firewood is on its way and I have the house to myself. All. Day. Long.
Ahhh…the possibilities.
A wide open day is kind of like an empty plate when you approach the buffet line…so many different ways to load it up and savor the day. Here’s what I’m thinking…
- Scrapbook a bit. I have a few projects to wrap up…and then, I think I’ll print some photos for my week in the life project. Anyone else scrapbooking or week-in-the-life-ing today?
- Print photos.
- Write. There’s no time better to write than when the house is empty…and this doesn’t happen often. I’m putting the finishing touches on my Get Organized for the Holidays Workshop. I ran this last year as a teleclass…but this year we’ll be putting it in our workshop system, so there will be forum support and idea sharing. The focus of the workshop is joy…getting organized for the holidays so you can enJOY it, despite everything on your to-do list. For me, keeping the focus on joy…and not all the *stuff* that goes along with the holidays…is especially important this year.
- Organize something. Not sure what. I’ve got some files to weed through in my office (old projects, etc.) and a couple other small projects on my to-do list. We’ll see what strikes my fancy.
- Take a nap. 🙂
- Dinner out with Jay. The kids are staying and Grandma and Grandpas…which means a long overdue date night. We’re going to a Japanese Steakhouse…one of my favorite nights out.
I’m sure there’s more…but I’m excited to get writing…so I’m going to leave it at this.
What’s on your to-do list this weekend? Hope you have a great one!
Around noon I’m taking my girls to Grandma’s farm, they are going to help pull carrots today. Sleepover! Then tomorrow they will help with the Thanksgiving supper (I’m Canadian 😉 and I’ll go out for supper and pick them up.
I’m going to scrapbook and work on my Simplfy 101 projects.
I love days home alone like that! How cool that you get to top it off with a date with your hubby! enjoy!
Just found your blog. Great!! I’ve been cleaning and organizing all day for my saturday, you would be so proud!
Hope you guys had a great date night.
Take care,
Amy
Yeah! A whole day to yourself! Hope you are enjoying yourself!
Enjoy,
Hilda
Sounds like a perfectly divine day. I didn’t do at all what I expected today. We went on a hike and had an impromptu talent show. Not productive, but very memorable.
Oh how i would love one of those days! Hope you really enjoyed it!
I my to do list was to clean out the playroom/scraproom ready for my new furniture arriving on Monday morning and get a start on our bedroom which has become a dumping room over the past months. I just cant relax in a room which has days of work needed to bring it back to life.
I too though hope to work on my week in the life project this weekend – not sure how far i will get, i do have the photos printed and organized in a storage binder by day, but now i just have to find the time to decide on an exact design!
I would so love one of those days, but i know I would plan to do alot, but the day would be wasted here on the puter or in front of the tv.
I too am doing the week in my life mini, but we are scrappin friday all day so I think I will wait till then.
I also had the whole Saturday to myself (well, I had my two year old but she had a cold so she lazed around a lot) and I scrapbooked ALL DAY. It was great. The day before I had bought some new SB magazines so I was bursting with inspiration. It was a great day.
I do love Saturdays. I spent my Saturday unpacking all my scrap stuff… FINALLY after a year in storage. I felt like I was reacquainted with an old friend. I can’t wait to finish and actually start a project!
Hope all is well with you!
i love the you schedule time to write. that’s so important. i just started block scheduling. i have several options to choose from, editing, blogging, scrapbooking, etc. but i never thought to actually set aside time to write creatively. I think i’ll add that to my options! 🙂
