And hello friends. Sorry this blog of mine has been so quiet lately. The good news is that I’m not curled up in a ball feeling sorry for myself. I really am doing okay. I have good days and bad days, just as expected. And busy, busy days.
As I mentioned in a prior post, experiencing the loss of my dad was major wake-up call for me. Somewhere in the midst of it I read this idea (or something similar):
The real fear isn’t that I will die, it is that I won’t fully live the life I have been given.
It’s time to live fully. It’s time to recreate, reinvent and change. It’s time for personal change and for changes at simplify 101—which means exciting things for all of us!
And it means busy, busy days (and a bit less blogging from time to time.) Here’s a little taste of what’s going on around here…
This week was spent putting the finishing touches on a new, FREE online workshop—about change. I’m super excited to let you in on all the details just as soon as it’s ready. Stay tuned…
This month has been about Cross Country meets. I am a new super-crazy-mega-fan of this sport. Last Saturday I lost my voice from cheering on our team so loudly. Yes – I REALLY love this sport. I am so inspired by every child on my daughter’s team.
This week has been about doing new things…we recorded three, new videos. I’m really excited to share these with you very soon, too.
Looking ahead, tomorrow I’m running in Miles for Meso, a race that raises money for Mesothelioma, the disease that claimed my sweet father’s life. I’ll be running six weeks, to the day, after losing him. I’m excited to celebrate his life and run in support of a good cause—finding a cure for this relentless disease.
Next week, I have two online workshops starting on Thursday, including Organize Your Paper Clutter and Organize Your Kitchen. If you’re looking for a complete system that will show you step by step how to organize every single type of paper in your home, I created Organize Your Paper Clutter with you in mind. It’s a comprehensive workshop that leads you through the process of creating customized systems for your papers—ones that will really work for you and how you naturally do things. Organize Your Kitchen is a video workshop where I show you (on camera) my process for organizing kitchens so they are efficient, functional and attractive.
Also looking ahead to next week…I think I will be ready for another round of Finish It Friday. (Yay!) Thanks for hanging in there with me in the meantime.
And this my friends, just scratches the surface. The changes are a comin’!
So that’s what I’ve been up to. How about you? What’s been keeping you busy or inspiring you in the past few weeks? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Aby – I’ve been reading your blog with extra interest lately because I lost my mother not too long ago, and felt (or still feel!) a lot of what you’re feeling. When I read the idea about fear in this post, I remembered a phrase I heard a speaker use recently: Die Empty. Just thought I’d share, as it’s a great, quick mantra to remember to live fully, all the time. All the best to you and your family in this difficult time.
Hi, Kaite,
Thank you so much for your comment. I’m so sorry you lost your mom and are on a similar journey. I hope you are doing as well as possible and that your heart is healing.
Thanks for sharing that phrase – it’s sticky. I like that. 🙂
Have a nice weekend,
Aby
Hooray–new content! What a great theme, too, Aby! I’m astonished that you have been able to channel your grief so productively–but I shouldn’t be surprised! I’m looking forward to it. Thanks.
Thanks, Alana! 🙂
I’m looking forward to see what you’re cooking up. I’m fascinated, too – I’m just cooking up a new blog which is about changing habits, and it was kicked off by taking part in the Goals workshop earlier this year. I found that goals were easy but actions were much, much harder.
Wishing you and your family well as you make peace with this new phase.
Aby,
I just discovered your site off of pinterest and I absolutely love it. You give the best tips on organizing. I’m always so busy and rushed that all of my stuff piles up pretty fast, so I think your tips are really going to streamline and simplify my life.
So sorry to hear about your father, losing loved ones is the hardest thing. I’m so glad you’re turning it into a positive by supporting a cause that has affected your family. Best of luck in the future, and can’t wait to hear more tips!
I am looking forward to your change workshop.
I am sorry to hear of your dad passing, however, it sounds like you are healing.
I am going through some changes too so I am feeling some of your sorrow, my mom is 96 and just entered a nursing home. I am going to celebrate her life. It really put things in perspective. Like you, I will have my good days and bad days. I am definitely appreciating the good days.
You’ll do fine, enjoyed your article about your dad.
Hi Aby, I’m looking forward to see what’s new. I’m so glad that you’re doing better and keeping busy does really help. How did your race go?
I’m looking forward to Finish It Friday. I did get things done on my own and especially redoing my living room and dinig room. It was a huge project and we only have a few things to hang on the walls and some returns to do.
I’m curious about your change workshop. Hugs, Dottie
Today everyone from businessmen to farmers is seeing trading in commodities markets. The main dealings of NCDEX include the provision of a fine policy for the trading of agricultural products. It provides a good experience for traders by covering both technical competence and market-friendly features. This ensures a rich agricultural commodity exchange.
