Hello friends! I hope you had a great couple of weeks. Since our last Finish It Friday, I have been to New Orleans and back. I’m still feeling the energy from conference, and at the same time, settling back into the routine of regular life as a mom and small business owner. I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend ahead—having some fun and getting some stuff done.
How about you? What have you been up to? What’s on your radar screen this weekend? Here’s what’s on tap for me:
Fun
- Run. As you may know, running 500 miles in 2013 is goal #1 on my 13 in 13 journey. This is week 17 and I have run 162 miles so far…which means if I run 4 miles this weekend…I’ll be just four miles off my target pace. I’m not too worried, because I know my mileage will have to pick up when I start training for the half marathon. Check! Except oops, I only ran three miles.
- Plan garden and plant it. (Weather permitting.) No check. The weather did not cooperate. Maybe this upcoming weekend…
- Dinner out with my family. Yay! Check!
Done
- Make Progress on Project Life. (Goal #3). Edit and print photos. Okay…I’m really, really behind now, but I’m okay with it. Other things have been taking priority, which have been the right decisions for me. So I feel fine with where things are. I have been taking photos and notes, so I’m still doing this project and I think it will come together just as it is supposed to for me. 🙂 Check! I spent a lot of time on this and I’m still behind. 😉 Such is (project) life.
- Go shopping for a new bed. Any recommendations? Check. We went to two bed stores. We’re starting to figure out what we want…memory foam of some sort. I nearly fell asleep at the first store on Friday night. I figure this means we’re onto something.
- Laundry. Check!
- Meal plan and grocery shop. Check!
- Organize a pantry. Check!
- Spring decluttering. It’s time to do a little decluttering in Kailea’s room. Check! I also put away the coats, mittens, hats, etc. and got out some of the summer gear (bug spray, sunscreen, etc.) I’m ready to say goodbye to winter…though not quite ready for summer break which is just a few weeks away for us. (Yikes!)
Hope you had a fabulous weekend! Thanks for joining me for Finish It Friday!
Okay…that should keep me happy and busy. How about you? What are your plans for the weekend?
Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a terrific weekend!

Good luck with your list this weekend Lycia! I find it’s easier to have a long list when there’s a trip out of town on the other end of it!

Aby
oooh so many good things on your list Aby
My weekend plan:
fun:
– family lunch tomorrow and I’m cooking 😀
– watch a movie with hubby
– hen party dinner and drinks ~ this is actually tonight but for me the weekend starts on a Friday 😀
done:
– start organising the packing for a trip
– clear a shelf for my hubby to make his own space for papers etc (I have singled it out)
– wardrobe mini clearout and pull forward summer clothes
Sounds like a great weekend in store for you, too, Hannah! Enjoy. 🙂
Thanks Aby ~ my weekend didn’t go quiet to plan due to sever lack of sleep on Friday night
fun:
– family lunch tomorrow and I’m cooking ~ hubby took the decision that I was too tired to cook so we aborted our planned roast and went out ~ lovely treat. I did cook the roast for Sunday just for us … lots of lovely left overs in the fridge now.
– watch a movie with hubby ~ failed as discovered the movie I booked out was a cartoon and not the version we wanted to watch
– hen party dinner and drinks ~ this is actually tonight but for me the weekend starts on a Friday ~ done, and a lovely evening had. if only I had known that I’d be up the rest of the night with the little one, I would have come home earlier Ha Ha
done:
– start organising the packing for a trip ~ made a slow start but started none the less
– clear a shelf for my hubby to make his own space for papers etc (I have singled it out) ~ still to do, probably next weekend
– wardrobe mini clearout and pull forward summer clothes ~ doing this today/tomorrow now
Sorry for the sleepless night, Hannah! That is always tough. Sounds like you had a nice weekend even though it didn’t go exactly as planned. 🙂
So glad you’re back! That’s a great list. What kind of bed do you want? (assuming it’s for you & Jay and not one of the kids). I would always go with a King, but then both my husband and I are restless sleepers. Ha.
As for being behind on project life – eh, I am always behind since I send my pictures out. As long as I keep documenting/writing notes/collecting ephemera it’s easy to catch up. I did 8 weeks in about 2 hours earlier this month!
On my list:
FUN:
-Kenny Chesney Concert TONIGHT Woohoo so looking forward to this.
-Project Life
Done
-End of month checklist
-grocery shop
-laundry
-order checks (we suddenly ran out checks opps.)
-schedule blog posts
Thanks so much for sharing that you did 8 weeks of Project Life in 2 hours…I needed that. 🙂 And thanks for being glad I’m back. 🙂
As for the bed…definitely a King. We are thinking of memory foam.
Yay for your concert tonight! Have a great time!!
Aby
FUN:
– concert on friday – YES TOTALLY AWESOME
-Project Life. – Nope, my kiddo got sick and my sunday night plans fell apart.

-End of month checklist – um half check because I looked at it and the month doesn’t end until Wednesday?
-grocery shop CHECK
-laundry NOPE
-order checks (we suddenly ran out checks opps.) NOPE (sick kiddo)
-schedule blog posts 1/2 Check. I did one on Saturday but the other fell prey to the Sunday night sickness. Seems I do a lot on Sunday nights!
FUN

* Participate in Subdivision Yard Sale
* Take Leftover Yard Sale Items to Donate

Aby – I’m halfway through my yard sale and have gotten so many compliments on how “organized” my sale is! Lots of that is stuff I learned from you! One lady asked if I hired out to do other people’s sales…may have to give that some thought! Lol!
How fabulous about your organized garage sale and the compliments. That’s fantastic!! Have a great weekend!

The majority of the weekend was spent with the yard sale, but we were able to add quite a bit to our Disney fund, so I will consider it a success! Plus…after HUGE garage sales the last two years, I’m learning the meaning of the phrase, “you can’t organize a BUNCH of stuff”…getting rid of the stuff I don’t love makes it soooo much easier to organize what we do have! : )
Aby, I’m recovering from an appendectomy and having twins 3 weeks ago. Avoided surgery with the twins only to have surgery so shortly after. Seems kinda unfair huh?! So I’m going to try to get some photo organization done via the finding photo freedom class that is now over. I also really need to do some sorting of kids clothes for summer.
On the bed recommendation we bought a four seasons bed at sleep experts in 2007 with our tax return. Still love it so much. It’s a pillow top but firm underneath. A great investment.
That stinks about the appendectomy after twins. : (. I ended up with a c-section with my twins (now 2.5 years old) and my husband had the appendectomy 6 weeks later. I can emphathize! Kudos to you for getting extras done with newborn twins in the house! We lived in chaos for months! Best of luck to you!
Aby hope you’re having fun trying out beds. we have a super king (I think it is a California King in the states) ~ best investment ever in terms of sleeping and dreaming without being poked in the ribs or playing footsie 😀
Everytime we stay at W hotels I wish we could afford to buy their bed and take it home ~ I think the memory foam makes all the difference

Thanks for the link Hannah!
I love that you are so honest about what you get done and what gets in the way. It’s life and isn’t always smooth. Thanks for inspiring us every week!
Thanks so much Tiffany for your comment. I really appreciate it. 🙂
