Happy Friday friends! I hope you had a terrific week and are gearing up for an even better weekend. Do you have organizing on your to-do list this weekend? If so, here’s a tip to tuck into your back pocket:
Focus on just one thing.
This can be so incredibly difficult to do, especially when you feel as if you have a million things you need to do. But, giving yourself permission to focus on just one thing at a time, will actually help you get more done and faster.
This is also an incredibly useful strategy if you’re feeling overwhelmed by clutter or your to-do list. When you feel this way, it’s often because you’re focusing on too many things…seeing all of the clutter, or all of the projects, and feeling as if it all needs to be dealt with right now. But if you focus on just one project, task, or to do, you free your mind to focus all of your energy on accomplishing just that one thing. And guess what happens? You’re much more likely to get it done! In turn, this will create momentum that will energize you to tackle the next “one” thing.
As we head into the weekend, give yourself permission to focus on one thing at a time. Don’t stress about what that first “one” thing is. Just pick something, focus your energy on it, and let momentum move you forward.
Happy weekend!
P.S. Don’t forget, the Spring Organize-athon is this weekend! It’s your chance to make progress on your organizing to-do list (one thing at a time) with me there for support, advice and ideas. This fun, online event begins at 6 PM CST tonight, so sign up now. I look forward to spending the weekend with you!
