I hope you had a great weekend! For everyone who joined me in Finish It Friday—a big thank you! Here’s the place to share what you finished up this weekend. Here’s my progress report.
To Finish List:
1. Finish birthday party preparations. Check!
2. Put away Halloween decorations. Check!
3. Clean house. Check!
4. Start + finish laundry. Check! But somehow, another load has magically appeared in my laundry basket.
5. Get myself organized for the holidays. I started this process…but did not finish it. I will finish this up during the week while waiting at a practice or lesson. 🙂
6. Buy + wrap a birthday gift. Check!
Play List
1. Knit or read. (Or both!) I knitted…and spent a whole bunch of time untangling some yarn. I have no idea how I created such a tangled mess…but whew, that is all taken care of. (Untangling, by the way, was not part of the fun list.)
2. Enjoy birthday celebration. Check! I think the party went great. The birthday boy had a terrific time…hooray!
A good weekend indeed! Can’t wait to do it again in five days. 🙂 Hope you had a great weekend, too. Looking forward to reading your check in reports.
Great job! Untangling is not fun but kind of satisfying (or maybe it’s just me?). Before starting yarn projects, I roll up my yarn into a big ball. It doesn’t have to be pretty. It reduces the number of unforeseen tangles in the middle of the skein (since you get rid of the skein in the beginning) and worrying about losing stitches.
1. Put away Halloween decorations. Check.
2. Catch up on laundry. Check (more has magically appeared for me too…)
3. Tidy main living areas. 1/2 check?
4. Christmas organising list. Nope, not yet. Hope to do that this week.
Playlist:
1. Bake cupcakes or brownies. Check
2. Take kids to concert. No but we had a picnic at the park instead (while Daddy was away).
Not my best effort but I love how this keeps me focussed!
Hi, Emily,
Thanks for the tip on the yarn ball. The funny thing with this one was that it was in a ball. The yarn shop used a handy auto ball making machine thingy to take the skein and turn it into a ball. Anyway…clearly I did something wrong (or the machine did.) I’m sharing this because I wonder if you’ve run into that before? Is it just better to make your own balls?
Aby 🙂
