Even though school started a few weeks ago, Labor Day weekend feels like the official end of summer around here. And today it really feels like fall is on it’s way…it’s another cool and sunny Friday. Love that!
One of the ways I like to wrap up the summer is to take notes for next year that capture what worked and what didn’t work this past summer. What activities, outings, camps, etc. does everyone want to do again next year, and what things should we skip? This weekend will be a great weekend to poll the family, take a few notes of my own, and tuck these ideas away into my tickler file for next spring when we plan summer 2011. What things do you like to do to wrap up summer?
How about if we send summer off in style with a Freebie Friday? Today’s freebie is for one spot in the upcoming session of Organize Your Paper Clutter. With fall activities about to start up again, and school now in full swing, one thing is for sure—the end of summer means the start of the paper “busy season”! But with effective organizing systems, those that make it easy to access and take action on your paper when you need to, the end of summer doesn’t have to mean the return of paper clutter in your home! And that’s where Organize Your Paper Clutter comes in. During this online workshop you’ll set up organizing systems for every type of paper in your home—from items with to-dos associated with them to items that you’re holding onto permanently such as tax documents or legal records. And instead of getting a one-size-fits-all solution to your paper organizing challenges, you’ll learn how to set up systems that work for you and how you naturally do things.

Uh – oh… leaving a first comment is never good for random winner selection. Oh well.
I really need help with incoming papers. Between keeping receipts organizes, coupons clipped, and all medical papers and legal docs organized, I’m swamped. My poor husband needs me to get it together! Help!
Here in Australia we have summer to look forward to… But my biggest paper challenge is … everything! Study notes, bills, those pieces of paper that we can’t throw away but I just never know where to file. Thanks you for this give away!
I’m overwhelmed by all the paper that comes into my home daily. With the newspaper, mail, and five kids in school bringing home papers, there is so much paper all over the house.
I have the most trouble with keeping up with paper as it comes in. I coupon and between those and mail, I feel like I get in top of it just tofeel overwhelmed again within a few days!
my biggest challenge isn’t actually mine…my boyfriend’s paper clutter is a huge problem. he doesn’t like to open mail.
I think my biggest paper challenge is fear of letting go. I’m slowly developing good systems for paper as it comes in (I created a pretty awesome bill-paying & regular financials binder) but getting through and letting of the backlog is so overwhelming.
Besides my husband’s paper clutter, I have little bits of paper for ideas in scrapbooking and journaling that I can’t quite find a place for. Help!
My biggest paper clutter problem is recipes and holiday themed craft or food ideas.
What I will miss most about summer is the slower pace of things. When the kids are not in school, there aren’t quite so many activities to juggle. Having 5 kids means I’m running 4 different carpools just for school and don’t even get me started on the practices and lessons that go on after school!
Oh, and my biggest paper clutter comes from, you guessed it, school!
I think deciding how long to keep things and knowing when to reach in the files and purge.
My biggest area is my incoming mail ie: magazines, junk mail, bills and my second biggest area is school paperwork from my daughter.
My biggest paper problem is in the office… what to do with bills, medical EOBS, mail, papers I think I need to keep. I need an easy way to help keep it manageable!! Or the “know how” to purge and get rid of! LOL.
My biggest problem are my class paperwoks. I hate them, they are all over the place and when i need one i can’t find it… I am drowning in paper. I need your help please!!!
Oops! My biggest paper problem….papers I feel I HAVE to save.
My biggest problem with paper is what do I NEED to keep and what do I NEED to shred. I will miss the lazy days of summer- hanging by the pool, etc.
I feel like I need a place or way to keep all of my important papers in one place. I feel like I have 4 or 5 spots when I’d feel much better if I could keep the stuff I need in one place!
Summer= no homework. I think I’ll hate it more than the kids do.
I miss the warm days at the beach!
The seas of papers on every inch of surface space is my dilemma and nothing really connects with much of any of the other papers floating on other surfaces! Overwhelming, so I just move stacks from here to there and nothing gets sorted. How can it?? The lingering pressure makes its way into every other part of life. Throw me a life raft!!!
I just cancelled my FaceBook yesterday as it was an escape to keep me from dealing with all the clutter! Sooo, I would leave a second comment on one of those other social pages, but I hope I get credit for NOT as it was a step towards success in the area of getting organized….. but if this would be considered a cheat, then please, don’t use this entry!! thanks!
