Hello friends! I hope you had a terrific week. Thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts on the challenges of staying organized. Really good stuff, and really helpful stuff as I work on the new class. So thanks. And if you haven’t shared yet, and you have thoughts to share, please feel free to do so! I’d love to hear from you.
It’s Friday again – hooray! Do you have a fun weekend planned? Or a busy one filled with lots of things to do? (Or a bit of both?) That’s where I am, with a bit of both. Here’s what’s in the works for this weekend.
Sorry for my late, late check in! Here’s my update for the weekend.
Fun
- Run. My kid’s track meets started this week…and it seems to have thrown off my own running schedule, so I’ve got to get in two runs this weekend (which means no boot camp.) Check! 7 miles total. 🙂
- Shopping with Janine. Check!
Done
- Meal plan + grocery shop. Check!
- Laundry. Check!
- Go through books and sell them. Jennifer found out about a great book buy-back program in our town. You can check out the details on this post on my St. Louis Professional Organizing Services website to see if there’s a similar program in your area. (And feel free to leave a comment over there! It’s a new site, and it’s a bit lonely.) Check! This was a super easy process and since there was money involved, Kailea got in on the deal, too…which means a few more dollars in our pockets and a bit more breathing room in her bedroom. Hooray!
- simplify 101 project(s). No check.
Thanks for playing along again this weekend! See you again on Friday. 🙂
Okay…I think that’s the nuts and bolts of it. I’m sure there will be more fun and more done, but I’ve got the most important things accounted for. By the way…I did make some progress editing photos for Project Life this week (hooray!) so maybe I’ll get some of those photos printed this weekend. But…right now, other projects are taking the front seat.
What’s on your to-do list this weekend! Please share in the comments and then come back here on Monday to let us know how your weekend went. If you’ve never participated in Finish It Friday before, you’re invited to do so today.
It’s a bit of both around here, too. More of the “done” on my list, so will have to be intentional about the “fun” 🙂

Happy Friday too 🙂
I too have to be intentional about fun as have nothing organised as yet ~ we’re calming down after a week of lots of fun trips.
Fun
– get my annual horse racing fix by watching the Grand National
– make a call or write a letter to a good friend ~ early April always makes me feel like touching base with far flung or busy friends as it is usually three months since we last had a good catch up at Christmas/New Year!
Done
– finish organising recipes
– finish menu plan based on new process (thanks to S101 meal planning course)
– catch up a little on my photography class
– organise playdates for next week as it is still the Easter break
– pick up dry cleaning
– tidy up my creative space so I can quickly and easily dip in to projects as and when because I know I will have very little free ‘me’ time this coming month
phew that seems a lot to do!
Well my weekend wasn’t as free as I’d hoped due to hubby being sick
Fun ~ yes I got to see the Grand National ~ happy it was a safe race this year
but sadly didn’t get a chance to catch up with a good friend 🙁
Done
– recipes done to a point but I need to cull more so have to revisit this soon
– menu plan done
– didn’t get to my photography class 🙁
– playdates organised
– oops I’ve still not made it to the dry cleaner ~ MUST do this asap
– didn’t even step inside my creative space so no chance to organise it
on the plus side ~ I did reorganise my fridge/freezer
Happy Friday!
If they won’t take you books to sell you can always donate them to the library (and get a tax receipt!)
My DONE list:
-mail birthday card
-budget check in
-inventory and clean out pantry/fridge & freezer. I’m going back and doing the meal planning lessons and decided I really need to clean out and do a complete inventory of all three areas. Then the meal plans I make for the next few weeks can use up what we have on hand.
-return items to Kohl’s & pick out outfits for family photos
My FUN list
-scrapbook I have a page to finish and another digital page in mind, plus PL. I did a big photo order last week but I don’t think the photos will be delivered before Monday. I was hoping they’d arrive this weekend
-taking a page from your book. I want to do something spontaneous outside. It is finally going to be warm enough. So we’ll either make our first visit to the park, play in the yard or go to the zoo.
Check for everything! Hooray for me. The pantry/fridge thing was not as monstrous a task that I thought it would be.
And our spontaneous fun was going to the park on Sunday morning. It’s finally spring!
Very very busy weekend around here.. the warm weather always seems to heat up the activities
FUN
1) Tonight go to an open mic night with my son
2) Saturday is the Winter Percussion Groups Championship.. lots o driving
3) Sunday go visit my niece and her new baby again with my daughter and granddaughter.
4) Dinner with my daughter and her family to celebrate her birthday!
DONE
1) Rake.. spring cleanup.. this will be on the list for awhile
2) Weekly housework, laundry & food shopping
3) Now that I’ve decided on an offsite backup company I need to actually register and order the EHD
4) Keep on keywording.. did little 15 minute spurts of it during the week and it’s amazing how much got done..
Well that should be enough to keep me busy.. have a great weekend everyone!
Happy Friday all! I have much to accomplish this weekend but am not feeling motivated right now. 🙁 Hoping the accountability of Finish It Friday will help.
FINISH:
*Laundry
*Dusting
*Clean kitchen
*Small grocery list for next week
*Pack for spring break trip
*Run 23 miles on Saturday – I’m both nervous and excited about accomplishing this 🙂
*Check off last of spring break travel to-do list

I haven’t checked in for a while!
Fun:
– Run my first 5K!
– Scrapbook with a friend on Saturday night.
Done:
– Create my menu for the week.
– Grocery shop.
– Enter consignment items and prepare for sale.

I think this will be pretty manageable – as long as I can still walk after the 5K!
How did your 5K go?
Thanks everyone for sharing your lists and checking in! My weekend turned out to be a lot busier than I expected with some unexpected (and unpleasant) surprises vying for my time. Sorry I didn’t check in here sooner to say hello and good job! 🙂
