And I thought last week went fast—the weekend went even faster. But…I did it. I put together a list of unfinished projects. I’m sure I’ll discover more unfinished (and yet-to-be started) projects as the weeks go on, but it’s nice to have an updated list of projects collected all in one spot. Yay!
How did you do with your Finish It Friday list? I was happy to see some new people participating…are you hooked? Will you be back this Friday? Can’t wait to hear! Have a happy Monday.
I didn’t post a Finish It Friday goal this week. I pretty much took it easy all weekend, although we did finally go out shopping for a new sofa (no luck, but at least we went).
I love your idea of creating an unfinished projects list. Even better was your statement that the ones that aren’t worth finishing will be let go of! That is often a problem for me. I just let things niggle at the back of my mind, unwilling to admit I’ve moved on and don’t really care anymore about a project that I started. Good inspiration!
Finished everything. Put my unfinished projects list in a blank fabric covered book I had on the shelf. It is so pretty, it just makes me want to dive right in and get working on projects!:)
Yes, I’ll be back!
No kidding the weekend went by way to fast – I posted on my blog that I had planned on finishing packing a few rooms as we are moving at the end of the month. But then I ended up sick and all my plans went out the window. So its on to plan B – do it all this week 🙂
I hate packing but love unpacking and setting up house so I keep looking to the end goal!
I really enjoyed participating this week! I always saw your posts but never did it myself. I got most of what I wanted to get done, but my weekend isn’t over yet so maybe I’ll be even more productive tonight!
This was my 1st f.i.f. so I didn’t get all of the things on my list done (maybe I was too optimistic in my goals?) but I did make a dent, so I’m happy about that. I’ll definitely be back next week!
i cheated and didn’t write my intentions down on friday. 🙂 instead i kept a list of the things i did which felt just as great as crossing things off. it helped me focus on what i did and not on what was undone.
anyway, i thought your idea of making a list of projects to focus on was great, so i did that as part of finally setting some goals for the next while. besides the usual tasks of laundry, dishes, finances, etc, i also sent out our new year’s letters, hot glued on some random things that needed repairing, repaired the baby bumper for no reason at all except that it’s needed to be repaired for 4 years, and i fixed my beloved leather backpack that i used in college but still comes in handy since it’s so sturdy. should i even tell you that’s been in my to mend pile for 10 years? it felt SO great to get that done! [i know, 10 years is really inexcusable!] after a long time of going without, i’m finally able to have my sewing machine set up full time so it’s nice to be able to get these projects done! thanks for the motivation!
Hi Ladies, I did not post any goals, but I did finish what I had in mind which was finally getting the hanukkah decorations out of my dinning room table and into their boxes AND take the boxes to the attic (o.k. this last one falls on DH but I’ll take full credit)
I didn’t post here but I did post the list on the refrigerator door.
1) Undecorate & put away tree & ornaments
2) put away all decorations
3) donate decorations that do not make the repacking process
4) put all the boxes back into the attic
5) clean out the garage (where the boxes were stored during Dec.)
6) break down the empty boxes and put out for recycling [note: apparently our city does not recycle boxes/cardboard anymore so I ended up taking them to another town and adding them to their recycling bin-with permission, of course.]
7) move the car into the garage (for the first time in 2 years!!!!)
8) pack for family reunion
9) pack pet food & supplies for kennel
10) stop mail and newspaper
11) empty trash from house/refrig into large drum liner bags and put at curb for trash pickup during trip
12) create a folder for twins’ homework during
family reunion trip and add it to my carry-on bag
13) set house alarm
14) get everyone to the airport
15) stop at grocery store on the way to the condo
We are settled in for the Family Reunion and having a great time and I have felt so great knowing I finshed everything on my Finish it Friday List!!
I’m most proud of getting my car into the garage because it is something I have wanted to do and something that was a long time coming. Unfortunately, last Tuesday night it was broken into while in the driveway – along with several other neighbors cars. That means I took too long getting that done. Fortunately, I had removed everything from the car because I had just taken it to get new tires and hadn’t put anything back yet. So, nothing was in the car to take. Yay. Still- a learning experience and proof that my car needs to live in the garage. : )
Thanks for the encouragement & inspiration to get everything done. I’m enjoying our Reunion much more than I would if the car was out and the decorations were still up waiting for me to take care of them when we get home.
I finished my children’s activity, taught my lesson, caught up the laundry, and made progress on paper. I’m satisfied with my weekend’s work.
Yes, I’m hooked, but I didn’t quite make all of my Finish it Friday because I caught a sickness virus at the weekend, however I will share what I DID do instead of thinking about what I DIDN’T!!
1. Clean car (done)
2. Prepare notes for my meeting (done)
3. Prepare receipts for Accountant (started)
4. Ironing (done)
5. Enter two card making challenges, link to my blog (entered one)
6. Post thank you cards (done)
7. Drink 6 glasses of water a day! (done)
Actually looking at my list I didn’t do so bad, did I?! Thanks for the inspiration. I’ll definately be back!
I did my f.i.f last week. My plan is to finish a scrapbook project that I have started and just need to get finished. So far it’s been 3 weeks into the year and I’ve finished 3 projects and posting it on my blog. Also keeping track in my little journal 🙂
