Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend! My sincere thanks to everyone who joined me for Finish It Friday this past week! How did things go with your to-do list? So…I’m happy to report that we finished Kailea’s bed! (Hooray!!!)

Friday afternoon felt like we were on one of those reality design shows…racing against the clock before the “big reveal.” Jay and I pulled old furniture out of Kailea’s room, set up the bed, washed the sheets and made the bed, moved and re-hung two shelves, and organized items into eight drawers and three bookshelves—all before Kailea arrived home on the school bus. It was really fun and exciting.
This was a crazy project to take on this time of year…but it was so worth it. We all love it—especially the birthday girl. And I’m super excited about the extra storage space she has for all her treasures, and the extra floor space she has to dance and play. Hooray—check that one off the list! Now…it’s back to focusing on Christmas to-dos!
So how about you? How did you do with your “to finish” list?
Got my cards finished and put into the mail slot at the Post Office. AND, I’ve made 5 digi layouts in the last few days.
Congrats on getting the bed finished. It looks fantastic.
Love that bed!
Aby it turned out beautifully. That was a project right before Christmas but well worth it.
I finished the following:
Register TV
Caught Up Filing
Wash/Ironing
Bank/Bills
Wrapped my last gift
Made sugar cookies all day Saturday and had so much fun!
Christmas Dinner shopping list is done – now to start shopping
I even had time to do some reading. I’m enjoying sitting in the livng room in front of the tree with a good Christmas novel. Have a great week!
The bed looks great. What girl wouldn’t love that? I had most of my list finished by Saturday so I sat and watched Stargate SG-1 while I worked on Christmas cards and other odds and ends. Nice Saturday.
The bed looks great! Good job!
So cute, Aby. Just had to comment that your newsletter was fabulous this month. Thanks!
Some great finishing at my house over the weekend:
I finished the finishing touches of a bible-lady costume, with button and loops closure, the extra cloth and pattern put away and sewing ready for whatever project comes up next.
I finished moving boxes, etc. out of our spare room, and got the room all ready for my daughter and her little family.
More to do, of course!
I got my Christmas cards done, but also some craft for the kids. Just featured them on my blog if you fancy a look. http://www.retrorose.typepad.com I love the bed so much, great job!
I always wanted a loft bed as a kid! it looks great!

I finished hosting 3 Hanukkah party’s in 2 days.
I LOVE that bed – where did you buy it? The room turned out great!
I love how it turned out! And how good it feels to finish projects like this one. Merry Christmas!
Finish it Friday is a fabulous idea–I’ll definitely aim to participate in the next one. For some reason, today was a super productive day for me–knocked off just about everything on my list.
That bed is awesome–it must be great for her to have so much convenient storage now!
@Nadia – We found the bed on Craig’s List. It was a really lucky find. Originally it was painted black…so that’s why we had such a big painting project on our hands. — Aby
