Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a terrific weekend—filled with fun and finishing. If you participated in Finish It Friday, here’s the place to share your accomplishments!
Here’s my progress report:
1. Wash windows. Check! The windows are clean inside and out and boy does it feel good. This is a huge project which makes it that much more rewarding when it’s done. We have an atrium ranch which means high, hard to reach windows…and sore muscles on Monday. 😉
2. Finish laundry. I finished, folded, and put away four or five loads of laundry. There’s still a bit to do, but we’ll get ‘er caught up today.
3. Make progress on bathroom project. Check. We got the quote on tile, and put together a rough project plan. This project is going to be bigger than I originally anticipated—which means it’s very unlikely the project will be finished in October. But I’m okay with that. I’m happy with the new direction we’re headed with this project. Woohoo!
4. Wash light fixtures. This is on my October project list, but wasn’t on my weekend list…but it felt like a fun thing to do. I made good progress…and will finish this up either during the week or next weekend.
We also had some fall fun this weekend—like watching the Michigan State vs. Michigan football game. (Michigan State won—by the way. Hooray!) So it was a wonderful weekend, despite a few lingering loads of unfinished laundry. I hope you had a great weekend, too. Let me know how you did with your project list—I can’t wait to hear!
1. Clear email inboxes (mostly just archiving stuff). CHECK!
2. Get supplies for baby shower next weekend. CHECK!
3. Paint halloween decor. CHECK!
4. Hang desk shelf. Didn’t get to this one.
5. Finish labels for work. CHECK!
6. Enjoy our beautiful weather with my family! DOUBLE CHECK!
5 out of 6 is pretty good in my book. Hope everyone did well this weekend!
I have to say I did not accomplish much on my to do list weekend, but I did enjoy some great quality time with my family- church, a trip to the pumpkin patch, a couple of college football games (unfortunately my team lost), meals with our extended family, and I made a recipe I have been wanting to try for a long time and it was great. But, today is a new week and I have lots on my to do list, so hopefully it will be a productive week! Thanks for helping to motivate me. I am a new stay at home mom and I am trying to get into a routine and get more done with my time.
Congrats Cheryl! Well done.
And Johnna it sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Good luck with your to-do list this week.

My Monday check-in:
1. Finish laundry *MOSTLY DONE (only 1 load left to fold, and 1 left to wash)
2. Clear off my desk & find homes for new Ikea office storage items *MOSTLY DONE (desk cleared off, new home for storage items to be found tomorrow …)
3. Swap out summer clothes for autumn/winter ones and fill a “donate” bag! *COMPLETELY DONE :0) (I have a filled bag sitting outside my door waiting to be picked up by the charity shop tomorrow am)
I even got several more “projects” finished that I didn’t list, out of fear they wouldn’t be completed :0) Unfortunately, the Thanksgiving Dinner for today had to be postponed until tomorrow … but when you live in Ireland … whose really gonna notice? Ha ha
Aby,
Did you go to MSU? If so, what year did you graduate? DH graduated 94…
I missed the Friday challenge but I did get quite a bit accomplished this past weekend. Washed windows in back half of house, raked leaves (one of my favorite things to do in the Fall), got the laundry done, baked a cake, thorougly cleaned one bedroom (have two more to go), and some other regular chores. Also spent time with my 9 year old son. That still has a high priority over cleaning. I like the list idea because if I lay it on the kitchen counter, sometimes :>) my husband sees what is on the list and does some of the chores himself.
When I read the finish friday I thought that it said check here on Tuesday, hence on monday when I did not have it all finished I thought no big, I have until Tuesday! LOL So I am a day late in my reporting
1. make/can applesauce with the kids DONE-AMAZING THE AMMOUNT OF WORK FOR ONLY 5 BIG JARS OF APPLE SAUCE THAT WILL BE GONE BEFORE NOVEMBER!
2. Decorate for Halloween and Fall. STILL IN PROGRESS…HONESTLY JUST STARTED 🙁
3. Laundry (I too love to start the week FINISHED) HUBBY OUT OF TOWN MEANT THAT I WAS ON MY OWN WITH THE KIDS AND ALL OF THEIR WEEKEND SPORTS…WE MADE MORE DIRTY LAUNDRY THAN CLEAN LAUNDRY. TRY AGAIN NEXT WEEKEND!
I was not very productive with my “Finish it Friday” list 🙁
1. Clean out coat and shoe corner: Shoes – check, Coats – not so much.
2. Assess fall and winter kids clothes – partial check
3. Clean up PTO paperwork – not so much.
4. Work on weekly menu project – not so much.
Even though I don’t feel like I completed much – I am happy to have this list created and ready for the end of my week and weekend!
It was fun to play along!
Hi, Amy B,
I did go to Michigan State — graduated in 91. 🙂

@Andrea,
You story about the applesauce reminds me of my experience canning pasta sauce this summer. So much work…but it was SOOO yummy! 🙂
