Hello Finish It Friday friends. I hope you had a terrific week and that you’re excited about the weekend ahead. I am…it’s full of lots of open space. We have *nothing* planned. I love that! It has been a long time since we’ve had a wide-open weekend. So it’s time to fill that space intentionally, with fun stuff and stuff to get done. Here’s what’s on tap.
Fun
- Run 3-1/2 miles. I have 6-1/2 miles done for the week already, which means I just have to fit in 3-1/2 more this weekend to stay on my 500 mile pace for the year. (Goal #1) (Check!)
- Boot camp. I got some of my running in earlier in the week this week, so I can go to boot camp tomorrow morning. It’s been a while and I know this will be important to keep me strong throughout the year. Wish me luck! (Check!)
- Project Life. Select, edit and print photos for week 4 and 5. (Progress but not finished.) Finish week 3 layout. (Check!) (Goal #3.)
- Do a fun little creative organizing project. I wasn’t thinking about the Super Bowl when I was planning the weekend, so creative organizing turned into creative cooking instead. 🙂
Done
- simplify 101 project. Make 4 hours of progress. (3 hours. I’m claiming a check!)
- Target run. (Check!)
- Meal plan and grocery shop. (Check!)
- Laundry. (Check!)
I’m sure more will get added as I go along…but this will keep me busy for a while anyway. 🙂
What’s on your to-do list this weekend? Remember, it’s the first day of the month, so if you’re participating in 13 in 13, it’s a great time to take stock, and see how things are moving along with your goals. You might even be inspired to set a February goal (or two.) If you’re wondering how on earth to spend your time this weekend, here’s a link to our February organizing checklist, just for inspiration (and action) sake. Happy organizing! 🙂
Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for joining me for Finish It Friday!
P.S. Remember to share your progress in the comments on Monday! Thanks for joining me this week. 🙂

Have a great weekend! Looks like a nice mix of fun and done. 🙂
It’s been a long time since I joined in a Finish It Friday. Mainly because the to-do’s had become so numerous, I was lucky to get done the things that were happening in the moment. Several months ago I got fed up dealing with urgent all the time and started climbing out of crisis mode. The to-do list is still monstrous, but this weekend I only have one priority. My husband and I have carved out 48 hours of alone time. My only to do is to completely shut down the ongoing list in my brain and relax! I’m certain it will all be waiting for me Monday morning, so I’m not going to think about any of it until then. I haven’t successfully let myself off the hook for about nine years now. Kind of crazy writing it out that way, but it really brings home how much I need to learn this skill. I think I can do it. Have a great weekend!
Good for you for carving out 48 hours to spend with your husband. Enjoy your much deserved time away from your to-do list. 🙂

Be sure to tell us how it goes – good for you!!
FUN
-go to community swim with girls
-Project life 2013 spread (goal #1)
-Project life 2011 finish April & May (goal #1)
DONE
-sort clothes for consignment shop appointment
-Grocery Shop without buying sugar crap and soda (goal #3)
-Research Healthy snacks (goal #3)
-Get paperwork for licence plate switch
My February “goal” is Embrace Healthy Choices, which means food/fitness/financial. On the food end, I am giving up soda for the next 28 days.
Great list Alissa! Fun to see your to-do list with your goals next to them. I love your goal for February!
Checking in on Monday morning
FUN:
-we went to community swim, the pool was quiet, so that was nice. The girls had fun splashing around.
-I didn’t do my PL 2013, but I did finish PL 2011 April & May. Which took longer because I discovered I did have a done of photos from May (we had a hard drive crash that took out our Jan-April photos).
DONE:
-I ruthlessly weeded through my girls baby clothes. I wish I could decide if we’re done or not, for now I’m hanging on the gender neutral and some of my favorites. I got rid of lots of duplicates and things they never wear (like dresses, we are just not dress people).
-I grocery shopped successfully
-I researched healthy snacks (although nothing inspired)
-And I got the paperwork together to register our car, and now I will go to the DMV on Wednesday (ugh).
Nice job Alissa! Thanks for checking in. 🙂
Happy Weekend! I feel like we have a light weekend and I’m excited. 🙂

In an attempt to get better at actually meeting my goals, I got super organized last weekend working with a daily planner. It has been amazing at helping me stay on top of things this week, so I too am able to put a little more time toward fun this weekend!
Done:
Waxing appt.
Grocery shopping
vacuum and clean kitchen… shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes total (Keeping up on my weekly cleaning schedule is a HUGE part of Goal #2)
Organize planner for next week. (Big help when it comes to Goal #3)
Laundry
Fun:
Write! (Goal #1)
Make plans for weekend getaway in a couple of weeks
Play piano
Congrats on getting organized for your goals with your planner Shannon! That’s how goals get done – by carving out time to make them happen. 🙂
Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Well, my weekend turned out a bit differently than planned. Started Saturday morning out by breaking my wrist! 🙁 (Serious ouch!). Looking back on my list, it really wasn’t too bad (in terms of getting stuff done) considering. Still made the wax appt. Got the grocery shopping and the laundry done. The cleaning and the vacuuming may have to wait! Haven’t done any piano playing, but have done a touch of writing and I was able to make plans for the weekend getaway. I’m not sure what this next week will bring, but I keep telling myself I have a broken wrist, not a broken spirit!
I don’t know how to edit this….. so I will just repost.
