Happy Monday-After-Finish-It-Friday! Did you have a good weekend? Did you finish anything this weekend?
My two big finishes were to clear out my reading basket and catch up on laundry. I purged some old magazines and filed clippings for future reference and project ideas. This always feels so good. I also finished the laundry. I try to catch up completely on laundry at least once a week because getting it d-o-n-e feels oh-so good! We had a busy day Saturday, and a lazy day Sunday, so having the focus of finishing the laundry (getting it completely done) was a good thing. It’s great to go to bed on Sunday night in freshly laundered sheets, and even better to wake up Monday morning to an empty laundry basket. (Thus proving, once again, that for me it is very much the little stuff that makes me happy.)
So…what did you finish this weekend? Please share—I can’t wait to hear! And if you didn’t join in this week, remember, in just five days it will be Friday again. So come right back here for your weekly dose of completion!
I finally put my huge pile of layouts away into their albums. I am so glad that i cannot see that pile anymore. I did try to finish the laundry but time got the better of me.
I finished a photo album scrapbook of our Disney trip. I have A LOT of projects I should finish this week, so thanks for the inspiration to do it!
Good Morning! I finally moved a bookshelf to my craft room and moved the vanity out of the craft room and went through my file drawer and cleaned it out! Now to tackle the rest of the craft room! Have a great week!
I hung up a mirror that has been sitting on the floor, waiting, for about 2 months. I was procrastinating because I had to get the right hook, but I got it done. After it was hung, I noticed little hand and feet prints all over it, so I cleaned it, too. Now it’s hung AND clean.
I finally put in pull out shelves in my kitchen cupboards! What a gift to the universe theese things are!
I got 4 out of 6 from my original list. I didn’t sell/donate my clothes but I did clear my closet out. The clothes are in my trunk right now to drop off on the way home. I’m a little behind schedule but I believe in progress, not perfection!
I will have to really focus on selling my tripod for this Finish It Friday.
I still consider the weekend to have been very productive. Thanks Aby for being such a great motivator!
Hi Aby – can you give some tips on your magazine clipping filing system?? I’ve gotten into the habit of clipping and then tossing/donating the magazines – but now I have a small pile of clippings. . .
Thanks!
Hillary
ps – not sure I finished anything – LOL
I picked up a bunch of digital layouts I had printed at Costco, and put them into albums, I did most of my weekly housecleaning chores, planted some flowers in the garden, and did a traditional layout. Not everything on my list, but there is always too much on my list to actually get it done.
There’s a hill of clean clothes in the lundry room hidden from the guests.
There’s a mountain of DIRTY clothes in my closet
But the party was great!
I finished the creative things for my inlaws anniversary. Well, I better had to since the party was on Sunday midday! LOL But I didn’t completely finish the laundry: I hang up the clean clothes to dry but I didn’t put away the dry and folded one. Let’s say I’m 75% satisfied, which is already good!
Does it count if I didn’t tell you in advance?
Rehearsal Dinner for niece: check
Family wedding: check
Laundry done, all 8 loads: check, check, and triple check!!!
Niece’s wedding album: done to greet her when she returns from honeymoon, AND done in time for wedding recap with family tonight!
I cleaned through my closet of scrap supplies! I was able to throw some things away and create a stack for goodwill also. I managed to sort my paper by color; as well as grouping theme paper and embellishments in craft folders. It feels so good to know what I have now, and where everything is. I also made a stack of project ideas — things that I’ve purchased for specific ideas are filed and ready to be worked on instead of thrown in random storage.
Aby,
I have been getting caught up on your blog this week and love the Finish it Friday idea! I wanted to start this week but am going out of town tomorrow (Wed) and will return Monday.
However, I am happy to say that I have completed all the household laundry (with one load left to fold & put away tonight), been grocery shopping, planned meals for the rest of the family staying home and generally straightened up the house before I leave in the morning.
Lol, I think this can count as my first Finish-it-Friday and I hope the house is in good condition when I return. I’m already looking forward to getting things done next week!
Thanks for all your inspiring ideas!
