It’s a great time of year to go organize your medicine…just to be sure you have everything you need on hand before cold and flu season kicks into high gear. That’s what I did this weekend…reorganized the medicine.
It was a super quick, simple (and yet oddly satisfying) project. I used my favorite little bins, some buckets, and zipper bags. The baggies hold medicine sorted by type (ear drops, eye drops) and then by each person in the family. I printed the label cards onto card-stock, and made the circle tags using my Making Memories Tag Maker. Here’s a close up of the baggies.
Happy organizing!
That’s amazing!! And something every family should do. How many times do we go to find the medicine in the middle of the night because someone is sick and we can’t find it! love it! I know I have seen those white bins in your picture somewhere – was it Target? If not, could you tell me. Thanks Aby!

What a great idea. I know what I’m going to do this afternoon :-). Thanks.

Thanks sooo much for sharing this! Surprisingly, I have the ‘bin’ part started to sort adult & kids’ medicines in my pantry. I’m usually super-unorganized! I do love the baggies-per-person idea!!
Great idea! Where to you keep your medicine baskets? In the kitchen or the bathroom? I keep most of ours in the kitchen because it’s where we spend most of our time.
Great medicine organisation … love how you’ve organised it all by person. I sorted mine out a while back and they are in 2 big buckets, one for the kids and one for the adults and while it’s not as precise as your’s, it seems to be working. 🙂
I really like your ideas on organizing medicine. The baggie idea is a good one if you have a lot of family members on meds. I saw a great medicine organizer in the Solutions magazine the other day if you want some other ideas on organizing meds. They are on line. If you are going to travel by plane I suggest you get small bottles (from your pharmacist) if you don’t need the entire perscription for the time you will be traveling take only the amount of meds you will need plus two days worth in case you extend for a couple of days. Keep the labels on the bottles. Security really likes this–especially if traveling out of country.
that’s so beautiful. who knew the medicine cabinet could look like that.
I’ve done the same thing – except I just have “children’s” and “adult” bins. So far that’s worked!
I go through our medications on a regular basis and throw out what’s expired. But what I need to do is gather everything together. Right now, it’s all spread out between the 2 bathrooms and the kitchen. I love your ideas with the baskets.
I just discovered you blog after visiting RealWomenScrap and it couldn’t have come at a better time! We just moved into a new house three weeks ago and things are finally starting to look like home, very exciting. Now there are some things coming out of boxes that make me scratch my head because they don’t have a “home” yet in our new home… now I think I’m inspired to get it right, right from the start. Thanks! 😀
they are just beautiful! great job.
thanks for sharing and inspiring us.

Oh, this makes me feel good…I use these exact containers to organize our medicine!
I have a question on organizing the medicines. Do you keep your first aid items in with your meds? I am trying to decide where to keep band-aids, peroxide ect.
