It’s the first of the month, which means its checklist day! What’s on your to-do list for the month of June? Here are some ideas to help you stay organized all month long!
June Get Organized Checklist
Set your goals for the month. It’s hard to believe it but when June is over…the year will be half-way over, too. How are you doing with the goals you set back in January? Take some time this month to refocus on your goals, celebrate your accomplishments so far, and make plans to make the rest of 2011 even better than the first half.
Check your monthly tickler folder. And distribute contents to your daily folder.
Clear out your kid’s backpacks and artwork/ school paper incubator. Or declutter your archive files. Now is great time to sort through your paper systems and remove school papers for the year that just ended or is winding down. It’ll be one less thing to worry about this fall!
Organize the game cabinet. We used to spend hours playing cards, Monopoly and Life when I was a kid. If your family is like mine, now is a great time to organize the game cabinet. Let go of games you’ve grown bored of or your kids have grown out of. Check out this blog post for more ideas on organizing games + puzzles.
Declutter your kid’s rooms or toy area. The kids are off school and need something to pass the long summer days anyway. Right? 😉
Wash windows (inside + out) and clean the screens. It’s just now warm enough (and dry enough!) to think about getting outside and washing the windows. This will be a great outdoor project for June.
Create a summer outings survival kit. For more details, check back later this week for an upcoming post.
Create a list of treasures to hunt for at garage sales, flea markets and street fairs. Take a quick walk around your home. Which spaces could use some new-to-you treasures? Your list will help you prevent clutter…and it will also help you make sure you don’t pass by a great find when you see it.
Create a portable caddy for condiments for easy outdoor eating.
Clean the grill, and sort through grilling utensils and replace anything that needs replacing.
Remember Dads and Grandpas on Father’s Day. Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19 this year. If you have any fun gift ideas for Dads and Grandpas, please share them in the comments. I’m always on the hunt for some creative gift ideas for the men in my life.
Decorate the inside of your home for summer. (More ideas on this one coming soon!)
Let go of something that’s weighing you down. Remember the ABD’s of decluttering: Always be decluttering! This month, let go of at least one thing that’s been weighing you down. You’ll feel lighter and your home will look better, too!
Here is the PDF for this month’s checklist: June-checklist. (You will need Adobe Reader to open the file. You can get that here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/) What’s on your to-do list this month? Please leave me a comment and let me know. I’d love to hear from you. 🙂
Great list! Thanks for sharing!
