…out of absolutely nowhere! Just when you thought the good old days of Freebie Friday were gone forever, poof! Freebie Friday returns with a vengeance.
What’s up for grabs this time? Two things!
The first is a signed copy of the Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker—signed by not just one of the coauthors but by both! That’s right. Wendy was in town recently and she signed a copy of the book! So this rare, limited edition signed copy could be yours just by playing along!
“How do I win,” you want to know? Well, it’s quite simple. Just leave me a comment sharing your greatest scrapbooking obstacle. Is there anything that prevents you from scrapbooking as often as you’d like, or with as much joy as you’d like? This could be an organizational struggle or anything else for that matter.
So what if you don’t scrapbook or you scrapbook without a single struggle? No worries. I’ve got a separate blog post for that.
But first, to enter this particular Freebie Friday, post a comment by this Sunday, June 8th, 2008 at 8:00 PM central time to be eligible. Winner will be drawn randomly from a hat (or perhaps a galvanized bucket) and announced shortly there after!
lack of space and organizing my supplies. it has become so difficult for me to scrapbok that I just go to classes or order complete album kits on line to do. I never use my stash, yet I continue to add to it, LOL. It really is quite depressing.
Greatest obsticle in scrapbooking has to be finding the time. Or maybe that should really be MAKING the time. Is there any way you can organize a extra few hours into a day?
My biggest obstacle is time and energy. When I arrive at home from work I’m exhausted. So all I want is to go to bed or just watch tv.
I have too much stuff. I have a hard time because of the mountain of “good deals” I have bought. It takes hours (and sometimes days) to unearth supplies I want to use.
I’m purging and donating a lot, so maybe soon I can get back into my room and create. I actually have a pretty organized system to store my stuff, if I can cut my stash in half.
My scrapping area is small and compact so I have to stay organized otherwise I get overwhelmed and can’t create anything. Reading your book has really helped me in with the process of purging/organizing and staying organized.
Thank you so much for all your inspiration:]
i am having a hard time getting in the ‘mood’ to scrapbook. i dread getting all of my stuff out, and not having enough time to get it all done. and definitely the organization of my pictures….thats WAY overwhelming!! i obviously need more help than i thought!! 🙂
I only scrapbook every couple months, so it seems I need to clean and dust every time before I scrapbook. And by that time, my scrapbook time is already over.
my biggest obstacle is time!! I work full time and on my days off I want to be out doing things that are worth scrapping! I end up scheduling scrapping time when I know I have a big event happening that I will have lots of pictures from!
lack of time.
too many other things to do after my long commute home…laundry. dishes. cooking dinner. a quick blog post. calls to family. etc. etc.
by the time i’ve wrapped all of these things up, it’s bed time!!
does the book help out w/ time management skills?? 🙂

My greatest obstacle is when I have a picture of multiple people but want to use it on one page for one person but hate to throw that other portion of the picture away!
I have to pick just one obstacle? For me, it’s kind of a bunch of things put together. It started when we were moving a lot and I didn’t have space to scrapbook. Then I started a big album project (an adoption trip to China) which because of the lack of space, time and more moving, took me two years to complete. I just finished it recently and now I feel like I’m stuck in a time warp. All these new tools and materials that have come out in the past couple of years (while I had my head stuck in one album) have me overwhelmed! And now I do finally have a place to scrap, but my stuff isn’t very well organized so it’s hard to just sit down and do it when I have a spare minute, and when I do try I’m just overwhelmed. Help!
my greatest struggle is feeling so far behind…and i’m only a few years behind…i know others have longer to catch up. i need a way to keep all the pictures, but not feel guilty over not scrapping them all. help, help!
time is usually it, but i go to montly crops, if i could organize myself better to get prepared for those, i could really be rocking. oh, and figure out how to not take a trunk/van load of supplies to a crop would be helpful too! i think we scrappers have so much stuff it makes it harder to complete pages quickly.
i’ve thought of doing what christine talks of here:
http://retrospection.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/06/slowing-down.html
organizing all embellishments by color and then grabbing that drawer and i should be good to go. i don’t know. i’m kind og scared to take my stuff out of the packaging.
Lack of space, my desk gets covered in bills, books, magazines, etc. I can’t leave projects out so I need to clean up every time….
my greatest obstacle?? my two children! LOL

Mine is where to start and albums. There are so many LOs I could do but don’t because I don’t know which one to do! Additionally the albums are an issue for me. I’ve been using Creative memories but they’re not condusive to out of date order scrapping and thus I just don’t scrap!
My kiddos. They love to demand my attention as soon as I sit down.
I think my greatest is obstacle to not getting is thinking I’m not organized ENOUGH to even get started. It’s like I have to organzie, and keep organizing till everything is perfect perfect, before I can create. I keep thinking ‘if i could just find a better system for this…” goes round thru my head that I can’t even get to the creative part of my brain to start creating! If that even makes sense. I just want to be free of all that!
Ribbon/trim storage and the odds and ends extras from kits/nearly empty packages of flowers, brads, larger embellishments. I like to take what I can with me to crops, but often I don’t have much time to pre-plan. Grab and go is my motto!
Photos – I have them, completely unorganized, and no time to put them in order! I have a hard time picking the ones I want to scrap – they’re all so special! I can’t possibly scrap every one!
And the room’s not done yet – when it’s done (within a month!), I’ll be scrapping my little heart out every weekend! Just have to pick up a wall unit and start organizing!
