Did you read Wendy’s blog post yesterday? If not, go there now. She hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what it’s like…

Brain filled to capacity.
Fully engaged in the process of creating.
Creating a book.
Holy cow…a book.
Collaborating.
Brainstorming.
Working around the clock.
Thinking about the book around the clock…even when on the surface you’re engaged in something else. Intense focus.
Life happening around you.
Your husband filling in for you…in so many ways.
Things that can pile up without consequence … piling up.

The process was exhilarating and exhausting all at once.

The result? I can’t wait for you to see it. (And I know Wendy feels the same way.) The talent of the folks at Simple Scrapbooks is simply amazing. It was a privilege to work with such a talented team. And so fabulous, exhilarating, fun, beyond words…to work with Wendy. She’s simply the best.

And now…it’s time to dig out and dig back in.

Out of the process came so many wonderful things. One of them was that I started getting up at 5 AM to write. I found that this is truly my golden hour. So quiet this time of day. The house still. The birds chirping. Dark. My brain…functioning at it’s prime. And to think, I never considered myself a morning person. Interesting what happens when out of necessity we let go of a self-limiting belief. I am a morning person. In fact, on the days I get up at five, I have more energy and a greater sense of joy all day long.

It can be so tough to find time just for you. Don’t you agree? You have your kids to care for, your husband to spend time with…and a to-do list a mile long. Have you found your golden hour? A time that you can claim just for you to do something you truly love to do? A time to create or write or exercise or just be? Sometimes it means staying up late, getting up before the crack of dawn or hiring a baby sitter for an hour or two a couple of afternoons a week. If if you haven’t found your golden hour, look for it. Seek it out. And claim it as your own.
